Dialogues II
The world we makeEighteen conversations about the worlds we inhabit, the selves we defend and the possibility of meeting both with greater freedom.
What holds a world together?
A recoil from discomfort. A voice rehearsing who we are. A familiar story that suddenly stops making sense. Dialogues II begins with these intimate experiences and follows them into larger questions about perception, liberation and the worlds made through thought.
Buddhist philosophy, alchemical imagery, psychology and myth meet a sustained reading of The Matrix, before the series turns towards artificial intelligence, convenience and human agency. Its recurring question is how a useful way of understanding becomes a world we can no longer see beyond.
Listen in sequence, or follow the question that draws you in. Each episode page brings together the video and supporting study material, including themes, chapter guidance, glossary entries, source notes and related viewing.
The self, resistance and the real
The opening nine episodes move from the reflex of aversion through effort, identity, mortality and awareness to the ways we experience time and construct a world.
How the Flinch Creates Your Reality
An ordinary flinch opens an inquiry into pain, aversion and the threatened self. What changes when a reaction becomes something we can examine?
Explore episode 01From Willpower to Effortless Action
From the burden of an internal controller to the image of a vessel catching the wind: effort, ethical cultivation and action without grasping.
Explore episode 02The Exhaustion of Being Yourself
The continual work of remembering, defending and explaining ourselves becomes a lens on identity, fatigue and the metaphorical cost of resistance.
Explore episode 03The Cost of the Inner Voice
Inner speech enlarges the reach of thought and worry. Literacy, ancient longevity stories and the imagined origins of the private narrator meet in a speculative inquiry.
Explore episode 04The Alchemy of Immortality
Would immortality preserve the person, renew the body or release the wish to continue? Alchemical and contemplative traditions offer contrasting images of transformation.
Explore episode 05Why Miracles Are Meant to Shatter You
A miracle is considered as a rupture in conceptual safety. Can wonder remain open before belief or explanation rebuilds the familiar world?
Explore episode 06The Bedrock of Unstainable Awareness
Insight, earned effort and the apparent mirror of AI lead towards a contemplative question: can awareness be unstained while experience profoundly affects the person?
Explore episode 07What If Time Is Not a Line?
Hindu cosmic cycles are placed beside geological deep time. An exploration of recurrence and renewal, with the limits of numerical correspondences kept in view.
Explore episode 08Why Your Reality Is a Hallucination
From the certainty of an opinion to the solidity of a room: how conditioning and predictive perception contribute to the world we experience.
Explore episode 09The Matrix: a cinema of awakening
Six connected dialogues follow Neo from the splinter in the mind to seeing, returning and surrendering. Film provides a shared imaginative space for exploring distinct contemplative traditions.
The Matrix as a Roadmap to Awakening
Neo’s unease, the White Rabbit and the red pill become a symbolic approach to dissatisfaction, identity and the threshold of awakening.
Explore episode 10The Red Pill as Spiritual Purge
The red pill, liquid mirror and awakening in the pod are read as images of subtraction: losing the certainties that made an inherited world feel secure.
Explore episode 11Why Your Mind Bends the Spoon
The impossible spoon opens questions about naming, parts, perception and emptiness. What makes an object the stable thing we take it to be?
Explore episode 12The Matrix as a Spiritual Trojan Horse
A popular film carries difficult questions about illusion and liberation. The Construct and the world outside the simulation reveal the limits of every cinematic map.
Explore episode 13When Neo Stops Running
Neo turns towards Agent Smith. The episode reads his change in relation to fear through Buddhist ideas of conditioning, attachment and the loosening of heroic identity.
Explore episode 14The Matrix as a Buddhist Meditation Manual
The trilogy becomes a comparative map of seeing, cultivation and surrender, asking why an initial insight still needs to be lived through relationship and responsibility.
Explore episode 15AI, agency and responsible creation
The closing movement brings the inquiry into contemporary life: the minds we project into machines, the capacities we delegate and the responsibility carried by our own conceptual worlds.
The Ghost in the Mathematical Void
A fluent reply can feel like someone looking back. AI behaviour, human projection and misplaced trust raise questions about who is being granted authority.
Explore episode 16The Velvet Prison of AI Comfort
When technology removes every difficulty, what remains ours to practise? Cognitive offloading and personalised comfort become questions about agency and dependence.
Explore episode 17Why You Are a Demiurge in Training
The finale returns from the limits of concepts to the responsibility of making. If our maps shape our lives, how carefully can we create and revise them?
